Marcella’s passion for dance began at the age of three, laying the foundation for an exceptional career that has taken her across the globe. By thirteen, she had discovered a love for Latin and Ballroom dancing, quickly rising through the competitive ranks to become both a National and Provincial South African Latin Champion.

Her journey with Burn the Floor began in 2013 at the age of eighteen, when she joined the cast for the production at Busch Gardens in Tampa, Florida. This marked the start of an exciting international career. From 2014 to 2016, Marcella toured throughout the United Kingdom alongside former Strictly Come Dancing professional Pasha Kovalev. She later returned to the UK touring circuit in 2020, performing in former Strictly Come Dancing professional Kristina Rihanoff’s production.

Marcella was selected to perform for the Prince of Saudi Arabia in the Seychelles on two separate occasions, in 2013 and 2016. Her competitive career culminated in 2020 when she claimed the title of South African Professional Champion.

Marcella has appeared as both a guest and professional dancer on the South African edition of Strictly Come Dancing in 2014 and 2015. She is also the reigning champion of Dancing with the Stars South Africa. Her television credits further include choreographing and performing on the 2019 South African season of The Bachelor and appearing as a professional dancer on Season 3 of The Voice South Africa.

Marcella’s relationship with Burn the Floor has continued to flourish. She was selected for the company’s 2022 Dubai tour and as part of the 2023 Japan tour, performing in both Osaka and Tokyo. Being selected as part of the 2025 Australasia touring cast for burn the floor, is her most recent achievement performing across Australia, Japan, Manila, and Singapore. A career highlight was performing at the Sydney Opera House.

Marcella has proudly performed in numerous Burn the Floor productions aboard Norwegian Cruise Line’s Epic, Breakaway, Getaway, and Prima, and was honoured to be part of the opening cast of Viva.

Deeply passionate about the art of dance and the Burn the Floor family, Marcella remains grateful for every opportunity to share her craft with audiences around the world. She is thrilled to be part of this tour and looks forward to returning to Australia and Japan, while experiencing the excitement of performing for New Zealand audiences for the very first time.
